For One Lemon Drop Martini:

1/4 cup quality vodka (citron vodka recommended)

For Lemon Sugar Rim:

granulated sugar
Zest from 1 lemon
Lemon wedge

Instructions
Make the Lemon Sugar Rim:
Place sugar on a plate and zest 1 lemon over it. Rub the zest into the sugar until fragrant and pale yellow.
Prepare the Glass:
Chill a martini glass. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim and dip it into the lemon sugar. Set aside.
Mix the Martini:
Fill a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Add vodka, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Shake It Up:
Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Serve:
Strain into the prepared martini glass and enjoy immediately.
