Ingredients

  • 5 ounces frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces coconut rum
  • 2 ounces light rum
  • 6 ounces cream of coconut
  • 6 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ½ cups crushed ice
  • Garnish: Pineapple wedge or fresh strawberry long straw

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, coconut rum, and light rum. Blend until smooth. Divide evenly between two glasses.
  • Rinse the blender. Add cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and crushed ice. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  • Slowly pour the coconut mixture over the strawberry base in each glass to create the signature swirl effect.
  • Garnish with a pineapple wedge or strawberry, insert a long straw, and serve immediately. Enjoy your tropical escape!

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum or use alcohol-free alternatives.
  • If you prefer the traditional version, blend 1 small banana with the coconut mixture and reduce cream of coconut and pineapple juice to 4 oz each.
  • No coconut rum? Substitute with spiced rum and adjust cream of coconut to 5 oz.
  • To make your own cream of coconut, heat 4 oz coconut cream with ½ cup sugar and a pinch of salt until dissolved.
  • Store leftovers in a freezer-safe container and re-blend before serving.
  • Best served in a chilled hurricane or highball glass for the ultimate tropical experience.
