Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef 85/15
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 cups cooked rice white, brown, or jasmine

Instructions
 

  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Add Garlic: Once the beef is halfway cooked, add minced garlic and stir for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  • Simmer and Absorb Flavors: Pour the sauce over the beef and stir well. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes until the flavors are absorbed.
  • Serve: Spoon the beef mixture over cooked rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of Sriracha.
