Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp Base:
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled & deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • For the Creamy Cheese Sauce:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika optional
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • For the Crispy Topping:
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • Sauté the Shrimp: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3–4 minutes until pink. Remove from heat.
  • Make the Cheese Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning. Gently fold in the cooked shrimp.
  • Assemble the Dish: Pour the shrimp and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, mix panko, Parmesan, and melted butter. Evenly sprinkle over the shrimp mixture.
  • Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly. For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
  • Garnish & Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add ¼ tsp red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Swap mozzarella for Gruyère or cheddar for a deeper cheese flavor.
  • Serve with crusty bread, pasta, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • If using frozen shrimp, thaw and pat dry to remove excess moisture before cooking.
