Fluffy Condensed Milk Bread

This fluffy condensed milk bread is incredibly soft, slightly sweet, and easy to make. With a rich condensed milk glaze, this homemade bread is perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¾ cups cake flour or all-purpose flour + cornstarch
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup whole milk room temperature
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 2 ½ teaspoons instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon milk for egg wash
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk for glaze

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Slowly add in milk, condensed milk, and egg, mixing on low speed.
  • Once dough forms, add softened butter in pieces, mixing until smooth.
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1.5-2 hours.
  • Once doubled in size, punch down and shape into a rectangle.
  • Roll the dough into a log and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover and let rise for another 1-1.5 hours until nearly doubled.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush dough with egg wash.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and immediately brush with condensed milk glaze.
  • Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • If using active dry yeast, dissolve it in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar first.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • Best served warm with extra condensed milk or butter.
