Ingredients

  • 12 oz bowtie pasta farfalle
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics:

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Brown the Beef:

  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Make the Sauce:

  • Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Combine Pasta and Sauce:

  • Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet and toss until fully coated in the creamy sauce. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and mix until melted and smooth.

Serve and Garnish:

  • Divide the pasta onto plates or bowls, and garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make It Your Own: Add mushrooms, spinach, or a pinch of chili flakes for extra flavor.
  • Storage Tips: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of cream or broth for the best texture.
  • Freezing: This dish can be frozen for up to a month, though the texture of the pasta may soften slightly.
