Ingredients

  • For the Salmon:
  • 4 salmon fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon about 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh dill or parsley
  • Red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Prepare the Salmon:
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place them on the baking sheet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.
  • Make the Marinade:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Brush the marinade generously over the salmon fillets, ensuring they’re fully coated. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and optional toppings like lemon slices or fresh herbs.
  • Bake:
  • Bake the salmon for 12–15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and has a slight pink sheen inside.
  • Optional Broil:
  • For crispy edges, broil the salmon for 1–2 minutes at the end. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • Serve:
  • Transfer the baked salmon to plates, drizzle with extra marinade, and garnish with fresh parsley or dill. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven at 300°F or on the stovetop with a splash of water or broth to keep it moist.
  • Freezing: You can freeze baked salmon for up to 2 months. Wrap tightly and thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
  • Pro Tip: Add a drizzle of honey to the marinade for a sweet-savory twist or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
