  • 1 ½ cups cracker crumbs buttery crackers or saltines
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cayenne pepper to taste (optional)
  • ¼ cup flour for dusting steaks

For the Gravy:

  • 20 ounces 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 ½ cups milk

Instructions
 

Mix the Steaks:

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, milk, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and cayenne if using.
  • Mix until just combined and shape into hamburger steaks.

Brown the Steaks:

  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Lightly dust the steaks with flour and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  • Transfer to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the Gravy:

  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
  • Pour over the hamburger steaks, ensuring they are evenly covered.

Bake:

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  • Uncover for the last 5 minutes for a thicker gravy.
